Antoni Capizzi & Co. was established in 1939
as a residential landscaping and maintenance
service. The business was operated out of
Antoni Capizzi's home, two-car garage and
one-acre lot in Newton, Massachusetts.

Nearly 60 years ago, following the untimely
death of Antoni, his son Orlando (Ollie) took
over the business at the age of 22, after
graduating from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, class of '51.

In 1962, the company incorporated, and the name was changed to Capizzi & Co., Inc. Too large for its Newton location, the company purchased four commercial acres in Acton, Massachusetts, and a new office building and two garages were built. The firm continued to grow, providing landscape design, construction and installation. The company also began offering irrigation installation and maintenance services in the late 70's.

Ollie's son, Anthony, now President and Chief Executive Officer, joined the firm in 1981. "Tony," also a graduate of Stockbridge, class of '81, runs the other main focus of the corporation; large tree moving and planting. With their 70" and 90" tree spades and the gooseneck tree mover, Capizzi is capable of transporting trees throughout New England.
